Meredith’s journey into advocacy began after witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of addiction on individuals and families, including the tragic overdose deaths of her two older brothers, Brian and Christopher. Inspired to make a difference, she joined Rage Against Addiction, where she has contributed her time, energy, and expertise to expanding the organization’s outreach and resources. Her efforts have helped foster partnerships with local nonprofits, organize community events, and support programs such as RAA’s “Daughter’s House,” which provides transitional housing for women in recovery.
As a person in long-term recovery, with her clean date being November 5, 2018, Meredith is an experienced Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. She is currently working toward her Registered Peer Supervisor certification and will be graduating from Towson University with a degree in Family and Human Services in May 2025. Meredith plans to continue her education by attending graduate school for Social Work. Her career and volunteer work reflect her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others, particularly those navigating the challenges of addiction and recovery.
Meredith is passionate about harm reduction education and helping others gain skills for managing grief related to addiction. She currently works as a clinical coordinator at a partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program at Bel Air, Maryland.
Meredith is deeply committed to breaking the stigma surrounding addiction, advocating for mental health awareness, and fostering a supportive community for individuals on their recovery journey. She regularly participates in community events, public speaking engagements, and educational workshops to spread awareness about addiction and the importance of accessible recovery resources.
Outside of her work with Rage Against Addiction, Meredith enjoys playing with her black lab, Chewie, and spending time with her son and family. She resides in Bel Air, MD, and takes pride in being a part of a community that values compassion, resilience, and hope.
