Get to know the people behind Rage Against Addiction.Mia Ellis
Mia Ellis wanted to be a part of all the hard work Rage is doing in the community. She saw it firsthand when the Rage team offered resources, transportation, and encouragement to her sister Dana who was in active addiction for several years. After her sister passed away on March 7, 2018, Rage continued to support her family. Mia joined the team as a volunteer in November 2019 as a way to do something positive with her grief and she also wanted to get involved with an amazing local organization that truly helps make a difference to those who need it.
She started off just writing the organization’s newsletters and assisting with some events but has since become a bigger part of the team by managing administration duties and coordinating fundraising opportunities and events.
Mia grew up in and currently lives in Harford County, Maryland with her husband, two daughters, and her black lab. She graduated from Fallston High School in 2002. She is a Towson University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. She has previously worked at a public relations/marketing firm in Baltimore, Maryland, and then at PayPal in Timonium, Maryland as an assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. She used to volunteer at the MDSPCA for many years. She is currently a member of her daughters’ school PTA and Yearbook Committee and volunteers at their school events and in the classroom. She enjoys reading, taking photographs, writing, spending time at the beach, and going camping with her family.
