Get to know the people behind Rage Against Addiction.Rachel Bongiorno
Rachel Bongiorno began her recovery journey in January 2017 after years of battling active addiction and became a volunteer with Rage Against Addiction around this time. She wanted to support and inspire people who are struggling just like she did. “I knew helping others was a passion I always had,” says Rachel. “Turning your pain into purpose is truly a powerful thing. I fell in love with the organization and what it stands for.”
After spending some time as a volunteer, she was hired as the Program Director for the organization’s two sober living homes. She is also a Recovery Coach and motivates individuals to find new and positive ways to live. “It is what God has called me to do,” she says.
Rachel has lived in Harford County, Maryland for her whole life. She graduated from Fallston High School in 1999. She played softball for 10 years on rec teams as well as on the Junior Varsity team for her high school. She has a loving and caring family; her parents have been married for over 40 years, and she has an older brother and a younger brother. She has recently bought her own home and married the love of her life on October 31, 2020. Her motto is “live, laugh, and love.”
