We Do Recover
In partnership with the Harford County Office of Drug Control Policy and the Harford County Health Department, we hosted a Recovery Month Night Out at Mount Zion Church in Bel Air, Maryland on Saturday, September 17th. It was a fun-filled evening with tasty food catered by Old Line Grill, delicious coffee kindly donated by Coffee Coffee, music provided by The Perfect Beat, and a variety of baked treats from members of our community. We also had raffle baskets that included goodies from companies like Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan, Starbucks, Ladew Gardens, Pampered Chef, Texas Roadhouse, Looney’s Pub, LaTattoria Spa, and many other businesses. Our sponsors included the Harford County Office of Drug Control Policy, the Harford County Health Department, Veni Vidi Vici, Ashley Addiction Treatment, Addiction Connections Resource, Voices of Hope, and Black Oak Title. Several residents from local recovery houses were in attendance, and we had four powerful and inspirational guest speakers who shared heart-warming stories about their recovery journeys. We know that achieving and maintaining recovery is no easy feat; it takes a lot of effort and dedication, and requires support of family, friends, and like-minded people. We believe that celebrating recovery is important because it gives others hope that recovery is possible.
We rely on and appreciate the generosity of local businesses and individuals who assist Rage and recovery. Thank you to Crabs Outback of Rising Sun, Maryland for supporting Recovery Month with a recent crab feast for our three sober living houses. We cannot spread awareness and hope alone; if you are interested in getting involved, please consider creating your own Facebook fundraiser for Rage this October. If you are able to raise at least $500, you will receive a free Rage gear hoodie as a thank you gift from us. For more information on how your contributions help us, please visit our program page here.
Recovery Month is an amazing opportunity to celebrate those who have made the effort to change their lives for the better. You won’t believe it until you see it! If you love someone in recovery, you know what I mean; the transformation is truly incredible!
